CHEMISTRY & IMMUNOLOGY
Clinical chemistry and Immunology is the back bone of
any modern diagnostic lab.
British Lab uses top tier automated analyzers from
manufactures of international repute.
British Lab is equipped with the Roche Cobas e411,
Mindray CL 900i, Cobas C311 and Mindray BS 240 PRO.
British Lab performs many common chemistry
and immunology tests, dramatically reducing reporting time.

tandard of quality.
HEMATOPATHOLOGY
Hematopathology is a rapidly advancing field of pathology which requires the use of advanced instruments and techniques. The Hematopathology Department is staffed by 2 consultant hematopathologists as well as several staff pathologists.
The CBC test is performed using 5-part Automated Hematology Analyzes from Sysmex and Dymind These instruments flag any samples with suspected abnormalities, which are then double- checked by the pathologist. High-performance Liquid Chromatography technology is used to perform testing for hemoglobin disorders.
MICROBIOLOGY
At the Department of Microbiology different types of clinical specimens are analyzed, microbes are diagnosed and different types of antibiotics are tested against them.
- The latest technology (BacT ALERT Virtuo) is being used to detect the presence of bacteria and/or fungi in the blood.
- To address Antibiotic Resistance challenges, Minimum Inhibitory Concentration (MIC) of antibiotics is being tested and reported depending on the type of microbes.
VIROLOGY
The Clinical Virology department at British Lab is a full-service
virology laboratory that performs extremely sensitive tests for
Hepatitis, Dengue Virus, and Tuberculosis.
Automated PCR Testing
British Lab is the Lab where every single PCR test for Hepatitis B
and Hepatitis C is performed on a fully automated system. Using
the BIORAD & Genti molecular system for DNA and RNA extraction
and amplification allows the detection of very low viral loads, meeting
and exceeding EASL guidelines for the treatment of Hepatitis patients.
EXCELLENCE IN HISTOPATHOLOGY
British Lab has a history of excellence in Histopathology. The department is staffed by 3 consultants pathologists. Accurate reporting in time is the cornerstone of the department philosophy, with 95% of the biopsies reported within 4 days of registration..
